Double Vision is a Jones 32
boat2
The Double Vision is the little sister to the ALYMcD. She was built and commissioned by P. L. Jones Boatyard in 2015. A very quick and great handling deadrise, great for Honga River activities such as bottom fishing, fishing spot pots, crabbing/trot lining, river cruising and more. Some of her features include:

  • Single screw 6.7 litre Cummins
  • Comfortable heated cabin
  • Furuno electronics
  • A clean on-board head

Both boats are fully equipped with all required tackle. The tackle is updated regularly and professionally maintained yearly. The fishing techniques change as the seasons change. Striped Bass (Rockfish) is our primary targeted specie ranging from the large migratory fish in the spring and fall to the smaller resident fish in the summer and fall months. Fishing techniques vary from trolling with a spread of larger tackle up to 26 lines using planer boards in the spring and fall, trolling smaller tackle in the summer, live lining with live spot, jigging, bottom fishing, to top water in the fall. Other species include Bluefish, Croakers(Hardheads), White perch, Spot, Speckled trout, Spanish Mackerel, and occasional Red Drum.

A fishing trip for our guests at the Riverside Lodge includes a prepared lunch, snacks and drinks, ice, and cleaning/packaging your catch. If you wish, we will prepare your catch for diner upon returning to the Lodge.

Crabbing will provide our guests the opportunity to see how the commercial trot liners have be catching blue crabs for years. We also may utilize traps as well. Drinks and snacks are included on the boat and upon returning to the Lodge, if you wish, we will prepare a crab feast to include steamed crabs, corn and hush puppies.

For our guests that wish to enjoy the hospitality and amenities at our lodge but have their own boats, the Riverside Lodge can accommodate you as well. We have access to a very nice and free public ramp within walking distance of the Lodge. Let us know when you arrive and our staff will assist you with launching your boat. Depending on the amount of water your boat draws you can tie up to our dock at the Lodge. Deep water slips for larger boats are also available within walking distance of the Lodge.
